A ruthless first half from Liverpool U21s sealed an emphatic 5-0 win over 10-man Wolves, with Kieran Morrison and Trey Nyoni impressing after their FA Cup cameos.

Goals: Ewing 2′, Ramsay 13′, Morrison 23′, Wright 25′, Olagunju 29′
For the third time in less than a week, a Liverpool side faced Wolves, only this time the Reds made a fast start, scoring twice inside 15 minutes.
While Arne Slot‘s side typically labour in the first half, there was no such issue for the U21s as left-back Clae Ewing scored inside two minutes, unleashing a strike not too dissimilar from Andy Robertson‘s on Friday.
Captain Kieran Morrison, who came off the bench in the FA Cup, started the move with a strong run on the right flank, with his ball played into the danger area and deflected towards Ewing.

The Reds did not relent and got their second 11 minutes later via Calvin Ramsay, who had an easy headed finish from close range after a well-worked set-piece saw Will Wright dink the ball to the near post.
A frenetic few minutes followed as Wolves had a goal ruled out for offside before they were reduced to 10 men after Wright was dragged back by who the referee adjudged to be the last man.

An onslaught followed, with Trey Nyoni, also involved off the bench on Friday, pickpocketing the Wolves defender to slide the ball to Morrison for his 13th goal of the season.
Wright was the next to get on the scoresheet after another high press from Nyoni, with the fifth added after Morrison‘s cross was turned in by a Wolves defender – all of this inside 30 minutes.

Nyoni did not emerge for the second half as his minutes were managed, but it is a nod to the change in approach from the club to ensure the 18-year-old’s development is not hindered.
Twenty-year-old Michael Laffey took his spot in midfield as the Reds sought to add to the scoreline, with Kyle Kelly twice coming close after demanding strong saves from Wolves‘ goalkeeper.

Morrison and Nallo were both withdrawn just after the hour mark, with the former to be involved in the first team’s preparations for the trip to Galatasaray in the Champions League.
Despite the Reds continually asking questions, they could not add another goal, with a highlight of the second half seeing Kareem Ahmed return from a hamstring injury sustained in September.
The result sees Liverpool sit at the top of the Premier League 2 table with two games remaining, placing them in an enviable position ahead of the knockout stages.
