NFL star Maxx Crosby has apologized to Las Vegas Raiders fans after he was traded to the Baltimore Ravens.
On Friday, Crosby's time as a Raider came to an end after Las Vegas agreed to trade the star pass rusher to the Ravens for two first-round picks, which will see the two-time second-team All-Pro join Baltimore at the start of the new league year. Baltimore is sending the Raiders their 2026 first-round pick, which is the No. 14 selection this year, and their 2027 first-round pick.

While Crosby had plenty of suitors, including the Dallas Cowboys, the Raiders ultimately traded him to Baltimore as they look to the future under new head coach Klint Kubiak. Drafted by the Raiders in 2019, Crosby had played under five head coaches: Jon Gruden, Rich Bisaccia, Josh McDaniels, Antonio Pierce, and Pete Carroll before they hired Kubiak this offseason.

During that time, Las Vegas went 46-71, posting just one winning season in 2021, when they made the playoffs at 10-7. While Crosby's relationship with the Raiders seemingly soured by the end of the 2025 season after he was shut down with two games to play due to a knee injury, his love for Las Vegas and its fans was undeniably clear.
However, with him now in the prime of his career, the time for Crosby to win is now. Following the trade, the new Ravens pass rusher has apologized to Las Vegas fans, telling them he wants to retire a Raider.

In a video posted on social media, Crosby told Raiders fans: "I gave you all everything I got, and I have no regrets about that.
"I put everything into trying to win as a Raider. I’m not trying to get emotional already, but it’s tough, man. It’s been a damn journey."
He added: "Ever since I’ve been here, I’ve had one goal and one mission, and that’s to become the best version of myself and help bring a championship back to the Raider organization.

"I feel like I left everything I had on the table for this team. I’ve given my heart and soul, and I feel like I let you all down. Ever since Day One, I’ve wanted to create and build a winner with the Raiders."
The Ravens' decision to trade for one of the best defensive players in the NFL is also an understandable one, given their pass-rushing struggles last season. During their 2025 campaign, Baltimore recorded just 30 sacks, their fewest in 15 years.

In trading for Crosby, they have given incoming head coach Jesse Minter the perfect weapon for him to utilize defensively. Following a down year, in which they missed the playoffs in the final game of the regular season after they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore is in win-now mode.
“I’m going there [to Baltimore] with one purpose, and that’s to help this team get to where it ultimately needs to be and where everybody wants to go, and that’s winning the Super Bowl,” added Crosby.
"I know it’s going to be very difficult. I know there’s no guarantees in this, but I’m going to give everything in my heart and soul to bring a championship to Baltimore."
