The Los Angeles Lakers downgraded LeBron James from questionable to out an hour before tipoff of Sunday's game against the New York Knicks.

James was listed as out due to a left elbow contusion and left foot arthritis.

James hurt the elbow after he fell on it while scoring a layup late in Thursday's loss to the Denver Nuggets. He missed the following night's win over the Indiana Pacers with the injury.

Lakers center Deandre Ayton, who also missed the Pacers game with a sore knee, was available to play against the Knicks.

Now in his 23rd NBA season, James is averaging 21.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 7.0 assists in 44 games this season for the Lakers.
