Logan Paul Calls Off $1M Fight With NFL Players Due to WWE

Wrestling star Logan Paul was ready to battle it out in the boxing ring with several NFL stars after issuing a bold $1M fight challenge. However, it appears that the fight is now off for the WWE star.

Weeks ago, as the Super Bowl was underway, Paul began responding to trash talk from NFL legend Tom Brady during a Fanatics event.

The harsh banter, in which Brady suggested Logan being a wrestler in WWE is “cute,” was part of the build-up to Brady’s Fanatics Flag Football Classic, which was initially scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia this month and has since moved to a new location, likely in Los Angeles.

Brady and Paul’s back-and-forth remarks continued, including the Super Bowl-winning quarterback appearing in a workout video with former teammate, Rob Gronkowski, and calling Paul a “b****.” That prompted Paul to call out various NFL players in a video rant, including some by name, suggesting he could take down any NFL player in a boxing match.

Former All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell was among those who stepped up to the challenge, followed by retired defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko. Soon after, it appeared that Paul accepted the fights, with fans paying particular attention to his matchup with Bell.

On Sunday, the social media influencer shared an update on X (formerly Twitter) to fans, claiming he was calling off the fights, but it wasn’t his decision. Instead, he said his “bosses” at WWE, whom he claimed to get a call from in a video clip, don’t want him to risk an injury in these events.

“Turns out I'm too valuable of a WWE Superstar to be fighting bums I want to take this opportunity to congratulate @LeVeonBell and @BreidenFehoko for their 15 minutes of relevancy. Now back to being broke and retired I'm going back to RAW every Monday on Netflix @WWE,” he also wrote.

Bell and Fehoko quickly responded with various images to call out Paul. In his humorous photo, Paul is wearing a red clown nose and holding up a sign suggesting he “staged” the WWE phone call in his recent video because he was “scared to fight.”

“I’m afraid me and my brother are gonna get Anthony Joshua’d. Sorry but me and my brother are b*** made,” the sign also said.

Fellow retired NFL star Fehoko shared a slew of posts as reactions on his X account, including one that tagged WWE’s Paul Levesque, aka Triple H, who is now the Chief Content Officer.

“Imagine calling out NFL players two of us stepped to the plate. You moved the goalposts and we still put up the money and contract. Now you need your daddy @TripleH to come save you from getting a Joe Jackson a** whooping,” he wrote in one of his messages.

The fight initially appeared to be a three-round boxing match with 10-ounce gloves until one of the competitors quit. However, it appears the WWE doesn’t want to risk their investment in him with WrestleMania 42 and other major events approaching.

However, it’s also possible that Paul’s challenges, fight acceptances, and constant social media updates were part of a promotion by him and Tom Brady for their major flag football game on March 21. Former and current NFL stars will compete alongside other athletes at a venue in Los Angeles, likely the home venue of MLS’s Los Angeles FC.
