Travis Kelce is reportedly close to finalizing a decision on the 2026 season.
According to The Athletic's NFL insider Dianna Russini, Kelce is close to finalizing a decision on his 2026 NFL season. Kelce, 36, is close to finalizing a decision to return. According to Russini, Kelce is "motivated" to return.
The Chiefs are expected to re-sign him.
"Based on conversations with several teams, TE Travis Kelce appears motivated to return to play a 14th season. The Chiefs remain very much in the mix to re-sign the three-time Super Bowl champion and four-time All-Pro," she reported.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said earlier this offseason that conversations with Kelce were going well.
"There is communication. That's the main thing," Reid, 67, said, per People. "That means people want to move forward. I think that's where Trav is."
"I'm not trying to put words in his mouth at all, and I try to give him some space here. He's been doing this a long time, and he can sort all that out as he goes forward," Reid added. "We're proceeding with that, and there is communication."
Kelce's mom, Donna, is excited for the potential, too.
"I just want him to do what he feels comfortable doing. He's gotta talk to people in his life to decide what he wants to do. So I'm not sure. We'll see what happens!"
