Chelsea are likely to spend a lot of money again this summer under Todd Boehly, and players are already being offered to the Blues. Brentford’s Kevin Schade is the latest name linked to Chelsea. His agents are said to have started talks with the club ahead of the summer transfer window.
In the next few months, new attacking players are likely to come to Stamford Bridge. Geovany Quenda and Emanuel Emegha are already set to join when the season ends. However, Schade has been in great shape this season, scoring seven goals and setting up three more in 26 Premier League games for Brentford. This finally makes the £22 million the Bees paid to sign him from Freiburg in the summer of 2023 worth it.
Schade’s agents have begun exploring options and have given both Tottenham and Chelsea the chance to sign the German winger. Also, Bayern Munich had been keeping an eye on the 24-year-old as they looked for more wide players to help Luis Diaz, but they think Brentford’s asking price of about £61 million is too high for a player who would mostly be a backup attacker.
Bayern Munich Priced Out as Schade’s Agents Explore Chelsea and Spurs Move
Since Bayern are no longer interested, Schade’s agents have moved on to find a deal with another team. Ali Barat’s agency represents both Schade and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson, who is currently on loan to Bayern Munich. That relationship with the Blues could be very important in any talks that happen this summer.
Chelsea want to sign more than just Schade from Brentford this summer. Igor Thiago, a striker, has been strongly linked to a move to Stamford Bridge after scoring 17 goals in the Premier League this season, which puts him second only to Erling Haaland on the scoring list.
But since Chelsea already have a lot of good players in the final third and two attacking players are coming in the summer, Schade would have a hard time getting regular playing time at Stamford Bridge.
