Analyst hands Ravens odd grade for Maxx Crosby trade

The Baltimore Ravens stunned the NFL when they traded for Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby, signaling the franchise's urgency under new head coach Jesse Minter.

The price was steep, as the Ravens gave up two first-round picks, but in return, they got a monster on the edge, who can win games single-handedly.

With the Ravens having a glaring need at pass rusher, Crosby fills that role and then some, now allowing others to go about their business as defenses will zero in on him. For some, it is a great move from Baltimore; others think it is a massive overpay.

For NFL.com's Kevin Patra, he's given Baltimore a B- grade.

"The Ravens filled their glaring pass-rush need with a relentless sack artist who can discombobulate offenses," Patra wrote. "Baltimore struggled to affect the passer last year, particularly lacking a player who can win one-on-ones. Crosby immediately fills the void."

Ravens begin free agency with a bang

The signing of Crosby is a great way to start things for the franchise, but now there are urgent needs they must address.

Lamar Jackson's contract is the elephant in the room, with the franchise needing to either extend No. 8 or restructure his deal.

The other is star center Tyler Linderbaum, who appears destined for free agency. These are two key moves the franchise has to make, and if neither gets done, this offseason is going to be a little rocky for the AFC North team.

Yes, Crosby was a good start, but if the franchise doesn't continue to be proactive, it could go sour very quickly.
