Much of the offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs has been centered around the future of Travis Kelce.
With not much being out there in the public space regarding what Travis will do, we are now slowly getting little bits of information.
And this latest one from The Athletic's Dianna Russini is good, but it has perhaps a hidden piece of information that is nightmare fuel for Chiefs Kingdom.
Russini reported that Kelce appears motivated to play on in Year 14. That's great.
But what isn't is what else she put in the tweet.
Dianna said the Chiefs are "in the mix" to re-sign Kelce.
Based on conversations with several teams, TE Travis Kelce appears motivated to return to play a 14th season. The Chiefs remain very much in the mix to re-sign the three-time Super Bowl champion and four-time All-Pro. pic.twitter.com/ybzjPfcvYb

Chiefs in the mix?
You could be forgiven for thinking that if Kelce returned for another year, it would be with Kansas City, because who else would Travis play for?
Now, we could be reading too much into it, but the fact that the Chiefs are "in the mix" and not named as "the" team Kelce will be playing for if he does return does strike us as interesting.
Granted, we can't see Kelce playing for any other team other than the Chiefs in 2026, but Russini's report does give us pause.
Is there a chance Travis plays on in 2026, but not with the Chiefs?
Surely not.
