Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi has been heavily linked with a Premier League move at the end of the season, reportedly keen to move on from the Bundesliga after four years with Dortmund. Chelsea have been named amongst the clubs targeting a summer move for the 24-year-old, alongside the likes of Manchester United.

The issue we have with this prediction is the price tag involved – Adeyemi will have just a single year left on his contract come this summer, and Dortmund demanding a fee as high as £61m is only less far fetched than the prospect of Chelsea actually paying that much. Not to mention that Adeyemi is not 20 years old like most of the Blues’ recent wing recruits – at 24, he is older than each of the ten players the club signed last summer were at the time.
That is not to say that we do not see him arriving at Stamford Bridge – it is just as likely as anywhere else in the Premier League, all things considered – but surely the only way such a fee is involved is if the player signs a new contract including a release clause, which is still a possibility according to recent reports from Bild. Maybe Grok is making a double-edged prediction without realising.
The future of Adeyemi looks set to be a saga to watch out for this summer, as a resolution must be reached if Dortmund want to avoid losing him for nothing in 2027. It will make interesting viewing to see if the wing wizard does end up at Chelsea after all.
