Shaquille O'Neal Disrespects Celtics Player During Standout Game

Shaquille O'Neal should be familiar with Baylor Scheierman's game after Sunday.

Scheierman played a key role in the Boston Celtics' 109-98 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, registering 16 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. O'Neal is hopefully among the viewers who know more about the 25-year-old after his ABC showcase.

In an awkward moment clipped by a fan on social media, the legendary center shamelessly admitted during the halftime show to being unaware of Scheierman. "Inside The NBA" host Ernie Johnson clued in O'Neal as they broke down a play in which the former Creighton star leaked out for a fast-break dunk.

"I don't even know who this kid is," O'Neal said.

"Baylor Scheierman," Johnson answered.

"I ain't never going to let anyone named Baylor or Scheierman score on me," Shaq replied. "Scheierman? Who he play for?"

If it's somehow still not clear, Baylor Scheierman plays for the Boston Celtics. The No. 30 pick of the 2024 NBA Draft entered Sunday's game averaging 4.6 points and 3.1 rebounds in 16.3 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-6 guard has scored efficiently in his limited chances, shooting 45.5 percent from the floor, 37.7 percent from three-point range and 88.9 percent on free throws.

As an NBA analyst, O'Neal should probably know all of the players he's covering. Let's hope the Hall of Famer brushes up on Scheierman before the Celtics return to ESPN for a matchup against the Golden State Warriors on March 18.
