ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Los Angeles Rams and cornerback Trent McDuffie have agreed to a massive contract extension. The deal is for four years and is worth $132 million ($100 million guaranteed). The $31 million average annual value of the contract is the most for a cornerback, surpassing Sauce Gardner’s deal. The Rams traded for McDuffie last week, where they gave the Kansas City Chiefs their first, fifth, and sixth-round picks in 2026 as well as their 2027 third-round selection.

The Chiefs were able to get draft capital while the Los Angeles Rams are able to get another star player to help in their secondary. McDuffie played in 13 games last season with the Chiefs and recorded a 63.3 completion percentage when targeted with four touchdowns allowed compared to seven pass deflections, one forced fumble, one sack, and one interception. With the Rams looking to keep their Super Bowl window open, they now have one of the top cornerbacks under contract for the next half-decade.
