Raiders Trade for Bills’ Corner Taron Johnson
Just this week, Aaron Rodgers called Johnson one of the best players in the league, saying, “Taron Johnson is one of the best players in the league, and he’s one of the most underrated players in the league. He can play a box linebacker and stop the run and he can cover guys.”
Bills quarterback Josh Allen has always been a huge fan of his teammate, saying, “What he’s done for this football team, and the rock that he is. I wouldn’t say he’s the most vocal guy, but he is a leader on this team. And guys look up to him, the way he works, the way that he carries himself each and every day in this building, it’s infectious. He’s a great teammate, a great friend… He’s definitely one that helps set the tone when people get here of how to be a Buffalo Bill and got a lot of love and respect for Taron.”
Now, he finds a new home in Las Vegas.

Over his eight-season career in Buffalo, he registered 572 tackles, 48 passes defensed, 23 tackles for loss, 11 quarterback hits, eight forced fumbles, six interceptions and three fumble recoveries. Johnson developed into one of the best nickel cornerbacks in the NFL, earning second team All-Pro in 2023.

The Bills drafted Johnson in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Weber State, selecting him 121st overall. He appeared in 113 games and made 87 starts over the eight seasons.”
Raiders first-year defensive coordinator Rob Leonard should be fired up knowing he’s going to have Johnson on his defense next season.
The Raiders, currently leading the NFL with $121.7 million in cap space, according to OvertheCap.com, aren’t done making moves this offseason.
