After a promising rookie season with the Miami Heat, Kel'el Ware struggled to get consistent minutes in the 2025-26 campaign. He has been ready to keep playing heavy minutes, but head coach Erik Spoelstra thought differently.
Over the past few months, Ware and Spoelstra have had a weird dynamic. This led to Ware not playing the minutes he feels he deserves, but that has changed recently. As a massive Ware supporter, Bam Adebayo is glad to see the growth.
Adebayo loves Ware getting the minutes he deserves
The Heat have been excellent over the past few games. They are now in the Playoffs, as they are now in the sixth seed. It is not an accident that Ware has been playing more recently, and Adebayo knows that his youngster is impactful.
While Ware is not playing perfect basketball, he is making legitimate contributions to the Heat's success. Moving forward, it seems that Ware will be part of the long-term plans.

Ware is one of the most interesting players on the Heat roster. He is quite talented with a strong set of physical tools. Ware can also shoot three-pointers, which is a big deal in the modern game.
Now that he is getting minutes, he can make some mistakes from time to time. However, it appears that Spoelstra is much more forgiving of that lately.
"We're starting to trust the young fella more. He's starting to come along. Like I said, it's not gonna be 20 and 15 every night, but his presence was felt. That's what I look for in him. Making the right plays, running in transition, being a lob threat, blocking shots," Adebayo said after beating the Pistons.
Not only are the Heat in the Playoffs now, they just beat the Detroit Pistons, the NBA's best team. It is one of the biggest victories of the season for the Heat, which could drive them further forward with momentum and confidence.
