LaMelo Ball joins LeBron, Luka, Magic in elite NBA club

LaMelo Ball recorded 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists to reach a historic milestone, becoming the eighth player in NBA history to post 100 games with at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists before turning 25. With the achievement, Ball joins elite company that includes LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Oscar Robertson, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Magic Johnson.

LaMelo Ball reached an impressive milestone on Sunday night, but it was not enough to extend the Charlotte Hornets winning streak.

Charlotte Hornets / Schedule

The Hornets fell 111-99 to the Phoenix Suns, ending their 10-game run. Charlotte had not lost on the road since January 17 against the Golden State Warriors.

Ball led the Hornets with 22 points, seven rebounds, and six assists while shooting 9 of 19 from the field. With that performance, the guard made NBA history.

Ball is now the eighth player in league history to record at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists in 100 games before turning 25. According to ESPN Insights on X, it is also the most such games in Charlotte franchise history.

The milestone places Ball in elite company alongside some of the greatest players in basketball, including LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Oscar Robertson, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Magic Johnson.

Despite Ball's strong all-around night, the Suns had the upper hand for most of the game.

Devin Booker led Phoenix with 30 points and added 10 assists to secure a double-double. Jalen Green and Collin Gillespie each scored 24 points to help the Suns control the game.

The loss dropped the Hornets to 32-33 on the season and below the .500 mark, placing them 10th in the Eastern Conference standings. Charlotte will face the Portland Trail Blazers next.

Meanwhile, Phoenix improved to 37-27 and will visit the Milwaukee Bucks in their next game.
