Andrey Santos will know what to expect when Chelsea take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this Wednesday.

Chelsea’s whole squad should after playing PSG in last year’s Club World Cup final.

However, Santos has encountered them on more occasions than most of his teammates after spending some time in Ligue 1. In total, the midfielder has faced the French giants three times, and here is how he got on in those games.

Chelsea 3-0 PSG (July 2025)

As already mentioned, Santos was part of the Chelsea side who took on PSG in the 2025 Club World Cup final.

The Blues won 3-0 that day, with Santos playing just under half an hour after coming on as a second-half substitute.

However, on Wednesday, you would expect him to start at the Parc des Princes. Liam Rosenior is a huge fan of his, while he adds a lot of balance to Chelsea’s midfield.

Strasbourg 2-1 PSG (May 2025)

Before linking up with Chelsea to compete at the Club World Cup, Santos enjoyed a season-long loan spell at Strasbourg.

There, the Brazilian faced PSG twice, winning the second encounter 2-1, which was only a couple of months before the Blues’ victory against the French champions. He played the full 90 minutes that afternoon.

PSG 4-2 Strasbourg (October 2024)

Santos’ only defeat to PSG came in October 2024, with Strasbourg losing 4-2 at the Parc des Princes. The Brazil international started that match but could not stop PSG’s powerful attack along with his midfield partner and Strasbourg’s defence.

Ruiz is missing, Neves might be…

On Wednesday, hopefully it will be a different story. It very well could be, with Luis Enrique admitting that PSG are lacking confidence right now. They recently lost 3-1 to AS Monaco, so his side can clearly be breached.

But Santos and Chelsea are already aware of that after putting three past them last summer. They are unlikely to do the same at the Parc des Princes, but Rosenior’s team are definitely capable of scoring.
