David Moyes can’t let The Friedkin Group continue to be stingy with their spending at Everton in the upcoming transfer window.

The American owners did sign the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jack Grealish and Thierno Barry last summer, but they have clearly failed to add depth to the Toffees’ squad.

As a result, the Scottish manager has at times lacked quality in his squad and has had to rely on youngsters like Harrison Armstrong, who was recalled from his loan spell at Preston North End in January.

It has been clear for a while that the Blues need to bolster their defence as Jake O’Brien continues to play out of position at right-back, with Nathan Patterson and Sean Longstaff not trusted by Moyes, leaving the Merseysiders with an evident priority in the summer.

The 24-year-old has started just three Premier League matches this season, making it clear that he isn’t trusted at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With the Scottish defender seemingly on his way out of the Blues, a new right-back should be their first signing once the 2025-26 campaign ends.

Even if Patterson stays at the Merseyside outfit for the foreseeable future, Coleman’s ongoing fitness issues necessitate reinforcements in that area.

A quality first-choice right-back could potentially be one of the missing pieces for Moyes to bring silverware back to L4, and the developments will be worth watching closely.

Who should David Moyes sign as new right-back at Hill Dickinson Stadium?

If the Toffees have hopes of consistently making Europe in the Premier League, Ben White would arguably be the perfect addition to their squad.

Everton have been linked with Arsenal defender White and it would surely be a game-changing signing for them.

The Englishman, who has primarily played as a right-back for the Gunners, but fitness issues and added competition this season have seen him go down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta.

If Moyes has an opportunity to bring White to Hill Dickinson Stadium, it should be a no-brainer for TFG to sanction a deal.
