The praise continues to pour in for Chelsea loanee Axel Disasi as the centre-back shines on loan at West Ham, having been a part of the Chelsea bomb squad this campaign.
Returning from a loan at Aston Villa during the second half of last season, Disasi found himself on the sidelines at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca. Disasi was not named in Chelsea’s Premier League squad.
Bought for £39m, Disasi has failed to live up to his price tag in a Chelsea shirt after his first season at Stamford Bridge. Instead, Chelsea have opted against giving him a chance, and he’s left on loan.

Liam Rosenior reintroduced Disasi to Chelsea training in January as the Blues looked to sort out their issues at centre-back, but come deadline day, Disasi was travelling across London to join West Ham.
Konstantinos Mavropanos heaps praise on Axel Disasi
Over the weekend, West Ham left-back Malick Diouf hammered Chelsea for their “crazy” treatment of Disasi. Not just because it was harsh, but because he could not believe Chelsea didn’t play him more.
Since joining West Ham, 27-year-old Disasi has helped spark a crucial run of form. Eight points in the last five Premier League games, including two wins and three clean sheets, with Disasi at the heart of it.

If West Ham do stay up, Disasi will have been pivotal in the Hammers’ survival. On West Ham’s website, former Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos marvelled over just how strong the Frenchman is.
“It had been a difficult period for him, but since he arrived, I think he’s shown how good a player he is and what he can bring to the team. He has helped our work defensively and has shown how strong he is.
“We are just happy to have him here and to work with him as well, and you can see from the last games that he’s played that he’s got a lot of big things,” Mavropanos continued, on West Ham’s official website.
Do West Ham have a permanent clause in Axel Disasi’s loan?
Having made such an impact, there have been murmurs at the London Stadium that West Ham will pursue a permanent deal for Disasi. Of course, remaining in the Premier League is key to a deal.
Has Disasi played his last game for Chelsea? 👋
His last Chelsea appearance came in January 2025
Chelsea will want to move him on permanently, West Ham will want to buy him if his form continues and Disasi is likely to be open to the move. But do West Ham have a permanent deal in Disasi’s loan deal?
Given the deal came in the latter stages of the January window, no permanent clause or obligation was included in the transfer. Chelsea received just £1.7m from West Ham in terms of a loan fee for Disasi.
It means that while all three parties could pursue a move if the Hammers remain in the Premier League, it does allow Chelsea to charge a slightly larger fee given his form in a West Ham shirt in recent weeks.
