The 8 Players Arsenal Will Consider Selling - With 2 Starters And 2 Academy Stars In Danger

Arsenal will have to sell at least one first-team player to balance the books, according to reports.

The Telegraph claim that the Gunners’ lavish spending in recent summers has caught up with them, and sales are now regarded as inevitable.

Sporting director Andrea Berta and manager Mikel Arteta are set to discuss which players will be axed, and some high-profile names may not avoid the chopping block.

Eight members of the first-team squad are named by The Telegraph as potential options for sales.

2 key starters could be offloaded by Arsenal

Captain Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard are both regarded as important players by Arteta, but the pair could be let go under the right circumstances.

Odegaard has two years remaining on his current deal, and after already spending five years at the Emirates, he would go down as a large profit on the balance sheet if he is sold.

Trossard, on the other hand, is closing in on the final year of his contract, so his exit is seen as likely to ensure he doesn’t leave on a free in 2027.

Gabriel Jesus is in the same boat at the Belgian, while offers for the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Ben White and Kai Havertz could also be considered.

Academy gems may be sacrificed

Due to the nature of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules, academy players are regarded as pure profit in the accounts.

It means the likes of Ethan Nwanweri and Myles Lewis-Skelly are big assets that could help the Gunners with their financial situation.

Neither player is starting games at the moment. Nwaneri was sent out on loan to get minutes at Marseille, while Lewis-Skelly is well down the pecking order, having failed to build on his breakout season in 2024/25.
