Arsenal Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Leandro Trossard, Riccardo Calafiori, William Saliba&2 Others

Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard had to be replaced before halftime during the 2-1 win over Mansfield Town in the FA Cup at the weekend.

The Belgian did not pick up the issue in a challenge, but he sat down and had treatment before being replaced by Piero Hincapie.

Trossard appeared to be feeling his hip, and the fact that it wasn’t an impact injury does raise doubts about his participation in upcoming fixtures.

The forward faces a race against time to be fit for the Bayer Leverkusen game on Wednesday night.

Expected Return Date – Unknown

Riccardo Calafiori

The Italian appeared to sustain a thigh injury after landing awkwardly midway through the second half.

Speaking after the match about both Calafiori and Trossard, manager Mikel Arteta said:

“Both of them had little niggles, they weren’t comfortable continuing. We knew this could be a possibility, especially in the conditions we were playing in today. We had to take them off.”

Expected Return Date – Unknown

William Saliba

The centre-back injured his ankle during the 2-1 win against Chelsea, and he subsequently missed the matches against Brighton and Mansfield.

Asked whether Saliba has picked up an issue in the same ankle that led to him withdrawing early in the game against Liverpool back in August, Arteta replied:

“No, it’s the other one. We thought the same straight after the game because he wasn’t comfortable to finish the game.”

“After straightaway, he didn’t have a good feeling, so let’s see if he recovers quickly.”

Expected Return Date – Unknown
