Chelsea could be handed a major opportunity in the summer transfer window, with reports suggesting Eduardo Camavinga may be available for around £65 million.
According to reports in Spain, Madrid have set a price tag of roughly €70 million (around £60-65 million) for the French international amid uncertainty over his long-term role at the club.
The midfielder has struggled to fully cement himself as a guaranteed starter this season, with competition increasing in the Madrid midfield and younger talents emerging within the squad.
That situation has inevitably caught the attention of several Premier League clubs. CHELSEA are among the sides monitoring Camavinga’s situation, with reports indicating the Blues have tracked the midfielder for some time and could consider a move if he becomes available.
From Chelsea’s perspective, the deal would make sense. The club’s recruitment strategy in recent years has focused on signing young, high-ceiling players who can become long-term cornerstones of the squad. Camavinga, who joined Madrid from Rennes in 2021 as one of Europe’s most exciting prospects, still fits that profile perfectly.
Tactically, he could also add something different to Chelsea’s midfield. His ability to operate as a defensive midfielder, central midfielder, or even as a full-back makes him one of the most versatile young players in Europe. A trio featuring Camavinga alongside Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo would give the Blues a dynamic and technically gifted midfield core.
However, there are significant obstacles. Madrid may only sanction a sale if they receive a strong offer as part of a wider squad rebuild, while other clubs—including Premier League rivals—have also shown interest in the midfielder.
Financially, CHELSEA would also need to justify another major midfield investment after already spending heavily in that area, so maybe the club would consider letting a few fringe players leave before making an official move for Camavinga.
