The former Toronto Raptors big man made his debut for the Seattle Super Hawks in the United States Basketball League and delivered a standout performance.
Porter finished with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists, adding three blocks and two steals in a 111-88 season-opening win over the Lilac City Legends.
Porter was banned from the NBA in 2024 after the league uncovered his involvement in a betting scandal. The case became the first major gambling controversy in the NBA since sports betting was legalized across many states in 2018.

League officials found that Porter had placed bets on NBA games and had also influenced betting outcomes while he was active on the court.
The scandal brought heavy criticism and negative publicity for the NBA, leading the league to hand Porter one of the harshest punishments possible: a lifetime ban.
During his NBA career, Porter appeared in 37 games and averaged 3.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Unlike his younger brother Michael Porter Jr., who secured a large NBA contract with the Brooklyn Nets, Jontay never reached that level of financial security through basketball.
