Exclusive: Alan Myers gives insight into how Everton view Jack Grealish internally as transfer…

Scrolling through social media and seeing Jack Grealish’s latest Instagram post with the message “everybody wants to rule the world” as he was building the muscles in his legs sums up the character of the player.

Despite what was a blow to Everton, and more so to Grealish himself, he is looking forward and it’s this positive attitude which makes me convinced the club should make his disrupted loan move permanent.

When Jack arrived at Everton he not only gave everyone a lift by adding real quality to the squad, but I believe his personality, character and winning mentality is something David Moyes needs in his dressing room.

What should Everton be willing to pay to bring back Grealish over the summer? 💰

Everton value the positive impact ‘good human being’ Jack Grealish is having behind-the-scenes

Speaking to people at the club it appears his influence is still being felt around the place. That doesn’t come as a surprise. He’s not only a great player, but he’s also a good human being and as Seamus Coleman has shown for many years, that’s an important quality to have in the squad.

Not only does it set a good example to the younger players in the team, it allows the manager breathing space in the dressing room, another ear or voice to call on.

The fact Grealish has stayed around the club since the injury suggests to me that every effort will be made to find the right deal to allow the 30-year-old Manchester City man to continue his Everton relationship. Of course it can’t be for the reported £50m asking price, but if the two clubs can find a compromise I think it would be in the best interest of all concerned.

Grealish was a real treat to watch early in the season, and contributed to Everton’s good start with goals against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth and six assists. And while it’s true his form dropped off slightly and he disappointed with his sending off against Wolves, it’s clear now that he’d been carrying an injury.

Make no mistake about it, Grealish will return strongly, being out for so long will have only galvanised his determination to go again.

It’s clear his time at Everton has been one where he has completely bought into the club and the manager’s ambitions to progress

His appreciation of the club, its players and staff and, as he says, in particular the fans, bodes well for any negotiations when that time comes. Of course what is important right now is the player’s rehabilitation and, by reading his comments, it feels he’s in a good place to make that as successful as possible.

Everton’s recruitment team will be ready to try and construct the right deal too, and of course that will also be dependent on the club’s final league placing as to what that looks like but either way, I strongly believe a deal needs to be done.

Everton have what looks like a difficult few weeks ahead with games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool to come but as they’ve shown already this season they have a tendency to surprise you just when you think they look to be struggling. The next nine games or so will be intriguing to watch, and I’m sure Jack Grealish will be keeping a very close eye to proceedings along with everyone else.
