Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson picked up an injury in training
Liverpool will be without goalkeeper Alisson Becker for the first leg of their last-16 tie against Galatasaray on Tuesday after he was injured in training. Alisson has been a key player for Arne Slot's side this season, but is unavailable for the match.
The veteran goalkeeper has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season and was in goal for their 3-1 win over in the on Friday night. However, second-choice Giorgi Mamardashvili will take his place on Tuesday in Istanbul.
Liverpool have confirmed their 21-man squad for the trip, with Alisson missing from the list, which reads: Gomez, Van Dijk, Konate, Kerkez, Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Salah, Jones, Gakpo, Ekitike, Mamardashvili, Robertson, Woodman, Frimpong, Gravenberch, Nyoni, Nallo, Morrison, Ngumoha, Misciur.
It is understood that Alisson but felt discomfort at the end of the session and will therefore not be risked. Freddie Woodman will step up from third choice to sit on the bench as Mamardashvili's understudy.

Mamardashvili has started nine games for since joining in a £25million move from Valencia in the summer, seven of which have come when Alisson was unavailable through injury. He is therefore used to stepping in for the Brazilian and recently spoke about his mindset.
“It is never easy because there is just one goal,” Mamardashvili told . “If I don’t play, I don’t mind. I have to work hard every day and that’s it. My time will come for sure. Maybe not this year but my time will come.”

He added: “My ex goalkeeper coach, Jose Manuel Ochotorena when I was in Valencia, told me I have to find balance between ambition and patience, you know. So keep working hard and you never know when your chance is coming.”
Federico Chiesa is also missing from the list of travelling players after not being able to take part in Monday's training session. The Italian forward was a late substitute in and was then left on the bench in the
