Liverpool are among three Premier League clubs interested in signing Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram, according to reports in the Italian media.

Tuttosport claim that the Reds, Aston Villa and Manchester United are all “keeping an eye” on the Frenchman, who has been capped 4 times by his country.

Thuram still has three and a half years left on his contract at Juve, but the Serie A side are looking to increase his wage in order to ward off potential suitors.

Talks have opened over raising his salary from €2.4m a season to around €4m. It should be pointed out that this would only see his earnings go up to approximately £66,000 a week, which is a modest sum for Premier League players.

Even so, Thuram’s club believe the midfielder is keen on staying rather than angling for a move away from Turin.

Liverpool were first linked with the player in 2023

Thuram was one of the midfielders that the Reds were scouting before the start of the 2023/24 season.

At the time, the Frenchman was playing for Ligue One side Nice, and he ultimately stayed in France for another year.

Despite being linked again with a move to Anfield in the summer of 2024, Thuram ultimately joined Juventus for just €20m. He would cost considerably more now.

Thuram is not the only midfielder on the club’s radar

The likes of Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and even Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali have been mentioned as potential targets ahead of the summer transfer window as the Reds look to reinforce their midfield. Buy a Liverpool shirt from Fanatics UK here.

Arne Slot’s side have lacked mobility and dynamism in the middle of the park, and Thuram would definitely add more energy and physicality, along with someone like Anderson.
