Former Lakers coach Byron Scott predicts that LeBron James will finish his NBA career with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Scott believes LeBron's upcoming season could be his last with the Lakers, after which he might return to Cleveland for a final year, potentially receiving a statue and other honors.
Former Los Angeles Lakers coach and NBA legend Byron Scott shared his thoughts on LeBron James future, predicting the superstar will return to the Cleveland Cavaliers before retiring.
"I do think this is his final year with the Lakers, and I think he'll probably go back to Cleveland and play one more year there, and then get the statue and all the stuff that they're gonna do in Cleveland. They're gonna name streets," Scott said during his podcast.
LeBron, who turns 42 this December, has been one of the NBA's defining players since his debut in 2003.
Over his career, he averages 26.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game while shooting 50.4% from the field and 31.3% from three.
Currently, the Lakers are fifth in the Western Conference with a 39-25 record, keeping LeBron in playoff contention as speculation about his career finale grows.
