Giants rumored to be 'very' interested in explosive Ravens playmaker in free agency

The New York Giants are in the market for a tight end and they reportedly have one of the Baltimore Ravens' free agents on their radar.

Not only are the Giants interested in Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely, SNY's Connor Hughes reports they are "very -- very" interested in him.

Hughes goes on to note that the Giants are still trying to re-sign Daniel Bellinger, but Likely is also a possibility for Big Blue.

"The Giants already re-signed Chris Manhertz. They're trying to do the same with Daniel Bellinger, per sources," Hughes reported. "They are also, as first reported by SNY, very -- very -- in on Isaiah Likely."

Likely makes sense for the Giants for a few reasons.

For starters, New York needs a veteran complement to Theo Johnson, who the jury is still out on. Furthermore, the Giants needs more playmakers on offense for Jaxson Dart.

Likely has shown he can be an impact playmaker over his four years in the NFL. His production hasn't been great, with Likely never having crossed the 500-yard mark in his career, but he has also been stuck behind Mark Andrews.

Likely is the kind of player who can line up anywhere. The Ravens free agent can be in an-line tight end, but we've also seen him line up in the slot and out wide.

We'll see if New York can get something done with Likely when the legal tampering period opens at noon ET on Monday.
