Celtics Legend Breaks Silence On Jayson Tatum Vs. Jaylen Brown Debate

In the weeks leading up to Jayson Tatum's return last week, many fans and media members were openly wondering how Tatum would co-exist with Jaylen Brown.

Brown had stepped up in Tatum's absence, establishing himself as the Celtics' alpha dog and clear-cut best player this year. Some even suspected that there might be a rivalry or rift between the two superstars, suggesting that Tatum's return could disrupt the team's chemistry and be a bad thing for Boston.

Celtics legend Kevin Garnett apparently grew tired of that nonsense. Prior to Tatum's return on Friday, he posted on X for the first time in two months.

"Less energy around is it JB or Tatum’s team and MORE energy around how tough of a mf duo it is! Welcome back JT! We > Me!" Garnett wrote on X.

Garnett endured similar speculation when he was traded to Boston in 2007. Many wondered if he, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen would gel after previously leading their respective teams.

They immediately won a championship in their first year together, so it worked out just fine. All three were willing to sacrifice a little bit for the good of the team, and it paid off.

Garnett has been right so far, as the Celtics have won both of Tatum's first two games back. He doesn't quite look like himself yet, but he and Brown have played well together, disproving the rumors that there would be issues when Tatum returned.

They'll be tested this week against the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder. Beating them would leave no doubt that Boston is officially back and one of the best teams in basketball.
