The Liverpool Disabled Supporters Association have praised Galatasaray for the changes they have made to make their stadium more accessible. After encountering problems during their first visit to Rams Park back in September, the Reds’ Disabled Supporters Association has praised the Turkish club for the outstanding work they have completed and also thanked UEFA for their cooperation.

A post on X read: “Outstanding work from @GalatasaraySK. Awareness is crucial, but when paired with a club that is eager to make their stadium accessible to everyone, the result is truly wonderful, exceptional work from @Galatasaray and @UEFA.”

Before another post read: “This is a new, purpose-built wheelchair platform @GalatasaraySK. We had a few issues on our last visit in September, but Galatasaray have not only worked to fix them, but has exceeded expectations. Thank you @GalatasaraySK, @LFC, and @UEFA for your outstanding collaboration. YNWA.”

Liverpool head into the first-leg of the tie on the back of a 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup on Friday night. But they will be without Alisson Becker for the game after he didn’t travel to Turkey with the squad.

“Given the possibilities of the draw, we got exactly what we anticipated and that is a tough last-16 draw against an opponent we have faced once already this season,” Reds boss Slot said after the draw was made.

“We know in the away leg we will have to perform better than the last time we were in Istanbul back in September. That is our immediate challenge in this tie, especially as we know Galatasaray had such a positive result against Juventus to reach the last 16.

“But the main feeling is excitement because this is what we worked so hard for in the league stage. We wanted to be here and now we want to make the most of being here.

“We have important games in other competitions before the Champions League comes back around of course, so hopefully when the tie arrives we will be as ready for it as we can be.”
