The Cleveland Browns have to address two key areas this offseason, and that's along the offensive line and at wide receiver.
While Cleveland has some money to work with this offseason, and could land a top wide receiver if possible, they got some bad news on a top WR option this offseason.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, the Browns got some bad news on Mike Evans as a possible free agent fit. Evans is not likely to come to the Browns amid his $27 million contract rumor.
Browns get bad news on Mike Evans in free agency
"As of right now, it doesn't look sound the Cleveland Browns are takers, per league sources," Anderson reports. "Some were envisioning Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders to Mike Evans... Of course, free agency is fluid."
Evans would've been a nice pickup for the offense, but the veteran wide receiver is more likely to be eyeing a contract with a Super Bowl contender.
The Browns are not that at the moment, with their major quarterback questions and offensive line issues. Not to mention the uncertainty with their defense with Jim Schwartz leaving.

This update on the Browns' interest in Evans comes amid Greg Aumen of Fox Sports NFL reporting that Evans has offers north of $27 million per-year on the table.
That might be too much for the Browns to spend on one player this offseason, even if they would be a huge help for Sanders like Evans would be.
Cleveland will now need to pivot to other wide receiver options this offseason. With a major need at the position, it doesn't look like the top option, who has over 13,000 career receiving yards and might be a future Hall of Famer, is coming to the Browns.
