The Arizona Cardinals addressed their running back room on Day 1 of legal tampering in NFL free agency.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Cardinals are signing Atlanta Falcons free agent running back Tyler Allgeier to a two-year deal worth $12.25 million.
"The AZCardinals have agreed to terms on a two-year, $12.25 million deal with former Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier," Garafolo said.
Why Cardinals are signing running back Tyler Allgeier
Allgeier has been Bijan Robinson's backup with the Falcons over the last three seasons, but when on the field, he's been a dynamic playmaker who had eight rushing touchdowns in 2025.
During his lone year as a starter in Atlanta in 2022, Allgeier had over 1,000 rushing yards.
Adding Allgeier means the Cardinals will have a versatile running back duo with James Conner in the fold. Allgeier and Conner pair well together and should give Aerizona a much-improved rushing attack in 2026.
