Why Titans are signing ex-Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson in free agency

Now-former New York Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson has found a new home.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Robinson is signing with the Tennessee Titans on a four-year, $78 million contract that includes $38 million guaranteed.

This was widely expected for weeks now, as the Titans and Robinson reportedly had mutual interest. Robinson has a connection to Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, who was his head coach in New York.

Why Titans signed Wan'Dale Robinson

Tennessee had nothing but young, unproven players at wide receiver behind Calvin Ridley, which was a less-than ideal situation for a young quarterback in Cam Ward.

Robinson now gives the Titans a solid No. 2 option and slot specialist who will make life easier for Ward.

Meanwhile, the Giants now have a playmaker to replace.
