The [Pittsburgh Steelers](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/pittsburgh-steelers) have added to their secondary in NFL free agency.
According to [ESPN's Peter Schrager](https://x.com/PSchrags/status/2031075784182370324), the Steelers are signing cornerback Jamel Dean to a three-year deal worth $36.75 million.
"Steelers have agreed to a deal with CB Jamel Dean. 3 yrs/ $ 36.75 Million," Schrager said.
Why Steelers are signing Jamel Dean in NFL free agency
------------------------------------------------------
Dean will be a massive upgrade in the Steelers' cornerback room over Asante Samuel Jr., who is currently slated to be the starting boundary corner opposite Joey Porter Jr.
The 29-year-old has started 77 games since entering the league in 2019, and had a career-high three interceptions in 2025.
Dean will provide a nice boost to Pittsburgh's secondary and hopefully help stabilize a secondary that has been incredibly up-and-down over the last few years.
