Dave Portnoy Calls For Patriots To Tear Down Tom Brady Statue In Angry Rant

Tom Brady was on New England Patriots for 20 years and won six Super Bowls, but Dave Portnoy wants to see his statue torn down.

The Patriots unveiled a statue for Brady outside Gillette Stadium last August. Brady is regarded as the greatest football player of all time and is the most important player in Patriots history. However, he has become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders after retiring, and has made some questionable comments and moves in regard to the Patriots recently.

While the Patriots were in the Super Bowl, Brady noted that he had no dog in the fight and was not rooting for the Patriots, while many of his former teammates had publicly noted they were. He also did not support Drake Maye in the MVP race. Now, after Maxx Crosby was traded to the Baltimore Ravens, a report notes that there was "no way Tom was sending Maxx to (Mike) Vrabel."

As the most important player in franchise history, fans seem to be expecting more support from Brady, including Patriots superfan Portnoy. Portnoy is the founder of Barstool Sports and a massive supporter of the Patriots. On Monday, he called for Brady's statue to be torn down on "Wake Up Barstool."

"It's starting to sound like a broken record here, where Tom Brady is slighting the New England Patriots...," Portnoy said on Monday. "It's just one thing after another, to the point that if you're a Patriots fan, you can come top not other conclusion other than that he hates the New England Patriots. It's not an accident. We just put up a statue of the guy. I say tear it down.

"Thank you for your Super Bowls. You're just a guy. Go play in your flag football games. Go be in a million different ads, but I don't need you in my life anymore, and you don't need us."

Brady will always be remembered for bringing six championships to the Patriots. However, his actions since leaving have certainly created controversy among Patriots fans.
