Browns get bad news on star LB amid Bears' $30 million addition

The Cleveland Browns have not made any free agent roster moves or additions in the first three hours since the legal tampering period opened.

While it's not a major issue, as long as they add a few important players, the Browns did get some very bad news on one player who they would've liked to bring back.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chicago Bears are in agreement on now former Browns linebacker Devin Bush on a $30 million contract.

Browns lose Devin Bush to Bears on $30M deal

"Former Browns LB Devin Bush reached agreement today on a 3-year, $30 million deal that includes $21 million guaranteed with the Chicago Bears, per agent Drew Rosenhaus," Schefter reports.

This is some bad news for the Browns. While they still have Carson Schwesigner, the Browns losing Bush is a tough blow.

Cleveland won't be getting Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah back amid concerns he's never going to play in the NFL again due to a neck issue.

With Bush on his way to the Bears, after his two-pick-six 2025 season with the Browns, there will have to be a big investment into the linebacker position this offseason for Cleveland.

Bush had a career-year in 2025, totaling three interceptions, eight passes defended, two forced fumbles, two sacks, 125 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and four quarterback hits, along with an impressive 64.2 passer rating allowed in coverage last season.

This is a tough loss for the Browns, and one Andrew Berry will need to find a replacement for. After a great season in 2025, Bush is leaving for the NFC North champion Bears on a very reasonable $30 million three-year deal.
