Everton have now set their sights on an in-form Premier League attacker, who is represented by the same agent as midfield star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Everton join race to sign Premier League attacker
Whilst they'd have preferred to progress in the FA Cup in the last round, Everton did receive a well-timed break over the weekend as they prepare to step up their pursuit of European football.
As things stand, the Toffees are just one point behind seventh-place Brentford and five points behind Merseyside rivals Liverpool in sixth. With both sides left to play in the final nine games of the season, European qualification is very much on.
David Moyes has been clear about the club's ambition for the majority of the campaign and it would be some achievement for the veteran manager if he took Everton into Europe in his first full season since returning.
He told reporters last month: "We’re not quite ready to give up our ambition to make Europe. We are going to try and keep going for it, why would we not?

Could cost £0: Fulham made to sweat as Everton join race to sign attacking star
The Toffees have set their sights on a bargain deal.
"I could easily turn up here and say ‘By the way, we’re having a pretty comfortable season so let’s forget about it’, but it’s the opposite. We are definitely trying to keep pushing."
A place amongst Europe's elite would instantly open the door to even more ambitious arrivals following last summer, which saw Everton welcome the likes of Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City.
To that end, names such as Christoph Baumgartner have been threatening to steal the headlines. The RB Leipzig midfielder has been in fine form this season and would be an excellent signing.

The same can be said for a Premier League attacker. According to TeamTalk, Everton are now racing to sign Crysencio Summerville from West Ham this summer and the fact that he shares the same representation as Dewsbury-Hall could provide an unexpected boost in negotiations.
In-form Summerville would be an excellent signing
Summerville looked destined to become a transfer flop for quite some time at West Ham. The former Leeds United man scored just once in his debut campaign and failed to score a Premier League goal until the 22nd game of this season.

Since that first goal, however, the Dutchman has not looked back - scoring five goals in his last eight games for West Ham. His form has been so impressive that even Ronald Koeman has taken note, admitting that a call-up to the Netherlands squad is possible later this month.
It's not just Koeman who's praised the winger, either. Alan Shearer said earlier this season: "Summerville has had an incredible time as well in front of goal. What a difference he’s made, his form."
It's been good enough form to get on Everton's radar, but it remains to be seen whether the Toffees turn their interest into an offer for a player worth £24m when West Ham signed him in 2024.
