John Franklin-Myers leaves Broncos for mega deal with Titans

This move was expected, but it still hurts for Broncos Country.

On Monday, defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers agreed to terms on a new deal with the Tennessee Titans, a deal that will become official with the new league year on Wednesday. The deal is reportedly worth $63 million across three years.

After the Broncos announced contract extensions for several players last year and Franklin-Myers was not among them, many anticipated this would happen.

The Broncos will now need to search for his replacement and the team hopes that player is already on the roster. Last year's third-round pick, Sai'vion Jones, figures to compete with Eyioma Uwazurike and Jordan Jackson, based on how the roster is currently constructed.

John Franklin-Myers gets massive deal from Titans

The Titans were seen as a potential destination for Franklin-Myers all offseason. He earned a big payday by racking up 14.5 sacks in two seasons with the Broncos after Denver obtained him for merely a sixth-round pick in a trade that took place during the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Titans will be his fourth NFL team, having already played for the Los Angeles Rams and New York Jets before coming to Denver.

Though Franklin-Myers' loss is big, the Broncos should get a fourth-round compensatory pick in the 2027 draft.
