The Tennessee Titans have been very aggressive in the early hours of free agency in 2026 and two of their moves might signal the end of one of their cornerback's days with the team.
According to reports, the Titans have signed former New York Giants cornerback Cor'Dale Flott and former New Orleans Saints cornerback Alontae Taylor.
Flott plays on the boundary, and NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports that the Titans view Taylor as someone who will play on the outside, also.
That doesn't leave any room for veteran cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, who is now a prime cut candidate for Tennessee. Even before those signings, Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky reported that the Titans were likely to cut Sneed.
Two teams that could have interest in Sneed are the Giants and Buffalo Bills.
As previously mentioned, the Giants lost Flott to Tennessee, and they would have still had a need at cornerback even if he did return.
Meanwhile, in Buffalo, it remains to be seen if the Bills will re-up with Tre'Davious White. If not, the Bills will be faced with starting Christian Benford and unproven 2025 draft pick Maxwell Hairston on the outside.
In that scenario, we'd suspect Buffalo will want to add a veteran insurance policy for Hairston.
Sneed signed a massive deal with the Titans after coming over in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024. He didn't come close to living up to his contract, mostly because of injury.
It remains to be seen what Sneed's health is like in 2026, but if he's cut loose and is healthy enough to play, he should come cheap in free agency, which would make him a worthwhile signing.
