It has been a whirlwind 72 hours for the Kelce family. On Monday, ESPN reported that Travis Kelce would be spending another season with the Kansas City Chiefs after months of speculation about his future in the NFL. This is huge and consequential news, but it did sort of step on his mother’s big moment. You see, Donna Kelce is remodeling her modest Florida home.
TMZ was the outlet that broke the story, reporting over the weekend that Donna “appears to be redoing her 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1,434-square-foot pad in Orlando, Florida.” According to documents reviewed by the outlet, Donna hired a company to replace nine windows and six doors. What a scoop!
Okay, so obviously this is not exactly “news” in the traditional sense and seems more like TMZ rushing to cover any tidbit of info that is even remotely related to the Kelce family. People figured that out pretty quickly and, in a rare display of X still having some juice, turned Donna’s remodel into a meme.
Even Jason Kelce, Donna’s older son, got in on the joke.
Being the savvy influencer she is, don’t be surprised if Donna takes advantage of this moment. My guess is that she’ll be posting spon-con for Home Depot within the next five business days, and she can use that money to replace her cabinets, too.
