After three seasons at Gillette Stadium, Vederian Lowe will be headed to the NFC West.
The former New England Patriots offensive tackle has agreed to terms with the San Francisco 49ers on a two-year contract worth a max value of $12 million, as [ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler](https://x.com/JFowlerESPN/status/2031102294045982745?s=20) reported on Monday.
Lowe, 26, will land $5.75 million guaranteed as part of the pact. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound unrestricted free agent had appeared in 42 games during his time with the reigning AFC champions.
Selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings, Lowe was acquired leading up to the league’s 53-man roster deadline in 2023. From there, the Illinois product made the initial 25 starts of his career while in Foxborough and caught a touchdown pass during quarterback Drake Maye’s inaugural campaign.
Coming back for 2025 following a torn labrum that required surgery, Lowe played 307 snaps at left tackle last season after an MCL injury sent rookie Will Campbell to injured reserve in late November. The organization’s previous blindside starter also reported for 10 snaps as eligible tight end and checked in for additional 87 downs in the kicking game.
By year’s end, Lowe’s pass protection had been charted by [Pro Football Focus](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/vederian-lowe/59741) for allowing one sack, two quarterback hits and a dozen hurries.
His exit leaves New England’s tackle depth chart currently in the hands of the No. 4 overall pick from the 2025 class along with Morgan Moses, Marcus Bryant, Sebastian Gutierrez and Lorenz Metz. Swing option Thayer Munford Jr. also stands as an unrestricted free agent.
