Football fans got one of the biggest trade shocks of the off-season on Friday night when the Baltimore Ravens traded for superstar defensive end Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders. Baltimore reportedly gave up 2 first-round draft picks to seal the deal, which becomes official on Wednesday when the new season begins.
However, while Crosby’s fans might be ecstatic about his latest trade win, the player himself has a larger milestone to celebrate: six years of sobriety. And he wouldn’t mind throwing a big party for it.

Crosby has publicly shared about his past struggles with alcohol and drugs. While in the heat of the addiction, Crosby reportedly checked into rehab in March 2020 to save his life and his career. Fortunately, rehab seems to have paid off, as he has grown into one of the NFL’s brightest players since then.
Besides making 3 Pro Bowls in less than 6 years, Crosby led the league in tackles for loss in 2022 and 2023. He also recorded 14.5 sacks and 90 total tackles in 2024, stamping his name among the league’s elite.
Now with the Ravens, Baltimore hopes Crosby will be the missing piece for its defense, especially after losing key players in free agency this offseason. With a player of his caliber, and considering Baltimore’s commendable recent performances, the Ravens are undoubtedly AFC North title contenders during the upcoming season.
Besides the excitement of joining a new side, Maxx Crosby is also out to celebrate a milestone of staying sober. A video from his high-profile celebration is already making the rounds on social media, delighting his growing fanbase.

Crosby, who still has 2 years left on his $94 million contract, has previously disclosed that staying clean had required a firm commitment from him to “principles and morals,” which involved setting firm personal boundaries around himself. Ravens fans would hope that he maintains his commitment while helping the team win notable feats.
