Liverpool's perfect summer signing is right under their noses in Merseyside - Opinion

Liverpool and FSG face a big summer this time around and Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye is the man they have to be considering next.

The Reds need to get it right this summer and the pressure is on to ensure that the next batch of signings don’t falter like the ones brought in last summer.

That means signing readymade Premier League players who can hit the ground running and Iliman Ndiaye ticks so many boxes.

Liverpool fans…just how good would Iliman Ndiaye be in this current team?

Why Iliman Ndiaye should be Liverpool’s next big signing

We have seen players play for both Liverpool and Everton in the past so the idea that Ndiaye might end up ‘betraying’ the Toffees needs to be disregarded.

Ever since his move from Marseille, Ndiaye has lit up the Premier League and he continues to shine under David Moyes this season.

Some will question why Liverpool should go for him but the stats and just the way he plays make it obvious he fits into Arne Slot’s current outfit.

A quick glance at the stats will tell you that Ndiaye is in the top 10% of attacking players in the Premier League when it comes to final third regains, tackles in the final third, and ball recoveries. Ndiaye averages 6.22 ball recoveries per 90 minutes, putting him among the best in the league.

Furthermore, he wins a staggering 6.45 duels per game. For comparative purposes, those numbers put him ahead of another high-energy wide player in Anthony Gordon.

Of course, the key for Ndiaye is to start to add more goals and assists to his game but that may well come with the natural progression to a club with better quality players.

Successful dribbles 53

Big chances created 22

In terms of his attacking output, he has just the five goals this season but he is second to only Jack Grealish at Everton in terms of big chances created.

Another impressive stat to note with Ndiaye is his ability to take on defenders. Indeed, with 53 successful dribbles, only Jeremy Doku and Mohammed Kudus can match or outdo him.

Put simply, Iliman Ndiaye is a player that the Liverpool supporters would love. If he can bring to Anfield what he brings to Everton, and add a sprinkle of more goals and assists, then he really is the ideal Liverpool signing.
