Southampton Face Arsenal In The FA Cup 6th Round
Monday, 9th Mar 2026 21:20
Saints will take on Arsenal in the Quarter finals of the FA Cup with the good news being that it will take place at St Mary's, a tough draw against the Premier League leaders, but could they have their eyes on a bigger Champions League date only days later.
Saints were the first team out of the hat this evening and Saints fans crossed their fingers for the words "Will face Port Vale" but it was perhaps the best team in England at the moment Arsenal who were drawn to visit St Mary's
The tie will take place on the weekend of Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th April, Easter weekend which could trigger a backlog of fixtures with Saints booked to play Ipswich on Friday 3rd and Wrexham on Monday 6th April.
I am not sure whether this game could be played Good Friday 4th, if not then it is likely to be on Saturday 5th as Arsenal could potentially be playing on the 7th or 8th in a Champions League Quarter final.
This could be a blessing for Saints as it could mean the Gunners will have their eyes on other competitions for their visit to St Mary's.
The other ties are as follows
Chelsea v Port Vale
Manchester City v Liverpool
West Ham United or Brentford v Leeds United
