Laporta added that the matter has already been discussed with head coach Xavi Pascual.
This season, Barcelona's total basketball budget is €40.2 million, with €29.25 million allocated for player and coaching staff salaries (gross).
This leaves the payroll at approximately €14.5 million net, the number BasketNews' Donatas Urbonas reported on February 20.
The club's economic report breaks down this year's €40.2 million budget as follows:
Supplies: €1.22 million
Payroll: €29.25 million
Other operating expenses: €9.11 million
Amortization of fixed assets: €0.61 million
Currently, Barca sits eighth in the EuroLeague standings with a 17-13 record and faces one of the toughest remaining schedules in the regular season.
Laporta, meanwhile, stepped down as club president in early February to make himself eligible for the upcoming Board of Directors elections, which will be held on March 15.
