Monday’s draw pitted the Reds against The Citizens in a showdown at the Etihad Stadium on the weekend of April 4 for a Wembley semi-final spot.

Liverpool have lost just two of their cup ties against their former Premier League title rivals, both of them arriving in replays in 1956 and 1973.
Their only quarter-final encounter with City in March 1988 saw them run out 4-0 winners at Maine Road in a run which took them through to the final.
