Boston Celtics Announce Key Player Could Miss Spurs Game

On Tuesday night, the Boston Celtics will be in San Antonio to take on the Spurs.

They are coming off a 109-98 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday in Ohio.

Payton Pritchard finished the victory with 18 points, three rebounds, seven assists and one steal while shooting 7/12 from the field and 2/6 from three-point range in 63 games.

For the game against the Spurs, the Celtics could be without Pritchard.

He listed as questionable on the injury report.

Daniel Donabedian of ClutchPoints wrote: “The Celtics announced that Payton Pritchard is QUESTIONABLE for tomorrow’s game vs. the Spurs due to a neck spasm.

Nikola Vucevic is still OUT.

Jayson Tatum still has no injury designation and will be available.”

Pritchard is in the middle of another solid season for Boston.

The former Oregon star is averaging 16.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists per contest while shooting 46.1% from the field and 36.2% from three-point range in 63 games.

Many had thought the Celtics would take a gap year with the injury to Jayson Tatum.

Instead, Tatum returned to a team that is the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 43-21 record in 64 games.

They have won two in a row (and eight out of their last ten).

On the road, the Celtics have gone 22-11 in 33 games played outside of Boston.

Following the Spurs, they will play their next game on Thursday when they visit the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After winning the 2024 title, the Celtics lost in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

San Antonio Spurs Rolling

The Spurs come into play as the second seed in the Western Conference with a 47-17 record in 64 games.

They have won four games in a row (and nine out of their last ten).

Following the Celtics, the Spurs will play their next game on Thursday when they remain at home to host the Denver Nuggets
