Finalized: Travis Kelce signs with Chiefs for 1 year, up to $15 million

There’s a lot of back and forth about the future of tight end Travis Kelce’s NFL career, even some speculation on whether returning for his 14th season would include re-signing with the Kansas City Chiefs or another franchise.

With half an hour before the free-agency frenzy begins on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network clarified that Kelce expects to return to Kansas City, rather than test the open market. Rapoport revealed that Kelce has been delivering that message to the other NFL suitors interested in signing him this offseason.

In a later post, Rapoport said Kelce “would have commanded top dollar” in the tight end market, but the signal from Kelce is that he would rather stay with the Chiefs regardless.

How do you feel about Kelce’s return? With running back Kenneth Walker III also in the mix, who else are you targeting to finish off the offense’s investment through free agency? Let us know in the comments!
