Manchester United are being linked with a swoop for the player ahead of the summer
According to TuttoSport, Manchester United are interested in Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram. Liverpool and Aston Villa have also been mentioned as potential suitors. The player’s contract in Italy expires in the summer of June 2029.
The Red Devils are sat in 3rd place in the Premier League table as they look to get themselves back into the Champions League. They are behind Arsenal and Manchester City in the league with nine fixtures of the season left to play. Michael Carrick’s side lost 2-1 away at Newcastle United in their last game.
Manchester United target Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram
United may have identified Thuram as a possible replacement for Casemiro, who is leaving when this campaign ends. The 24-year-old, who is a France international with four caps to his name, has caught the eye in Serie A over recent times. Juventus would have a big decision to make if an offer came in for his signature from England later this year.
Thuram made the move to Turin in 2024 and he has since made 87 appearances in all competitions, 36 of which have come this term, and he has chipped in with eight assists. He started his career with spells as a youngster at Olympique de Neuilly and AC Boulogne-Billancourt. AS Monaco then came calling for his services in 2016.
He subsequently rose up through their academy and was a regular at various different youth levels. The Reggio Emilia-born man only played three times for the first-team though. He later switched to OGC Nice and became a key player in their senior set-up before heading out the exit door.
Manchester United reaction to Newcastle United defeat
United caretaker manager Carrick was disappointed after their loss to Newcastle. He said: "Bitterly disappointed. It hurts that tonight. We definitely came here in good shape, looking to get something from the game, if not win the game and we're disappointed with the way it panned out.
"We can be an awful lot better. We've put ourselves in a good position, a decent position with the performances and the results that we've had, so tonight hurts."
