Thunder coach apologizes over Lu Dort, Nikola Jokic foul incident

Mark Daigneault acknowledged his inappropriate reaction following Dort's unsportsmanlike foul against the three-time MVP.

For the first time since the infamous Lu Dort foul against Nikola Jokic, the Denver Nuggets and the Oklahoma City Thunder will meet again this Monday.

Reflecting on what happened in the past, head coach Mark Daigneault acknowledged the lapses in his reaction to the incident for Dort and Jokic.

"You never know going into a game what the game's gonna be like. I've played these guys 14 times, I think it's the 14th time I've played in two years. All those games have been different. They've been refereed differently and played differently, so I never go into a game anticipating anything. I do know Lu acknowledged that the play was unnecessary," Daigneault told reporters ahead of the game.

"I don't think my comments about being honest helped after the game. The timing of them was insensitive. I was in the mode of protecting my team going forward, and it was just low times. But we've now acknowledged that, Lu acknowledged it, and we're moving forward."
