Wide receiver Brian Thomas has been cited as a possible trade target for the New York Giants.

As free agency gets underway, the New York Giants have already made upgrades to their offense. Amid some recent developments, the front office might not be done adding weapons around second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart.

After the initial frenzy of signings across the league, insider Connor Hughes joined WFAN Sports Radio to give his thoughts on the Giants’ moves thus far. When it came to what could be coming down the pike, he cited that the team could enter discussions for Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas.

“I could see the Giants potentially getting available because they made calls on him as well is Brian Thomas of the Jaguars is available,” Hughes said. “He is somebody the Jaguars are entertaining offers to.”

SNY’s @Connor_J_Hughes on Brian Thomas Jr. emerging as a potential Giants WR target:

Thomas, who landed a Pro-Bowl nod as a rookie in 2024, saw his production take a slight dip in year two. Across 14 games for Jacksonville last season, he logged 48 receptions for 707 yards and two touchdowns.

Still only 23 years old, Thomas has a lot of upside moving forward. In light of his numbers taking a dip, a team like the Giants could try to swoop in and nab him at a discounted price.

Giants Retain Isaiah Hodgins in Free Agency Frenzy

Along with bringing in an array of new faces Monday, the Giants also managed to keep some familiar faces in-house. Among their first handful of moves was bringing back wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins via a one-year deal.

Per @Schultz_Report, Isaiah Hodgins is back with the Giants on a one-year deal

Since arriving in New York in 2022, Hodgins has been much of a factor in the Giants’ offense. He’s appeared in 10 games over the last two seasons after making 17 appearances in 2023. The 27-year-old is coming off a 2025 campaign where he totaled 115 yards and one touchdown across seven games.

Now officially back with the Giants, Hodgins will attempt to carve out a role for himself in a wide receive corps that is headlined by Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton.

Giants Receive Modest Grade for Key Offensive Free-Agent Addition

When the Giants take the field in the 2026 season, their offense will have one key new player entering the fray. That being tight end Isaiah Likely. He was viewed among the top free agents at his position, and now he is on his way to New York via a three-year deal worth $40 million.

Likely spent the first few years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, where he slotted in behind Mark Andrews on the depth chart. He has now followed head coach Jon Harbaugh to the Giants, where he’ll get the opportunity to showcase what he can do as the top option at tight end.

In the midst of the start of free agency, the staff at The Athletic have handed out grades for every signing as they pour in. New York received a modest grade for the Likely signing, getting a B.

Likely has been productive as a secondary option, racking up at least 300 yards and one touchdown in each of his first four seasons. He’ll now embark on a new journey in hopes of having a career year serving as a go-to option for Dart in the Giants’ offense.
