The Broncos are getting the band back together in the middle of their defense.
Denver agreed to terms with inside linebacker Alex Singleton on Monday on a two-year deal worth $15.5 million, multiple sources familiar with the deal confirmed to The Post. The deal comes with $11 million guaranteed.

Singleton’s signing comes one day after the Broncos agreed to terms with Justin Strnad on a three-year deal worth $18 million.
Those two appear to be the foundation for Denver’s inside linebacker room going forward, because the club is also releasing inside linebacker Dre Greenlaw, sources confirmed to The Post.
Greenlaw signed a three-year contract on the first day of free agency last spring, but the deal really only came with one year and $11.5 million guaranteed. Releasing him will save the Broncos a shade more than $6 million on their 2026 salary cap and comes with $4.33 million in dead cap charges.
Singleton, meanwhile, continues to hold an important place in Denver’s defense for coordinator Vance Joseph. When Joseph didn’t land one of the 10 head coaching jobs that came open this winter, the Broncos’ odds of making Singleton a priority increased.
Joseph has called Singleton his “eyes and ears” on the field and he has called Denver’s defense when healthy each of the three seasons that Joseph has been the coordinator.
Strnad, meanwhile, went multiple seasons between playing defensive snaps, but stepped into a major role when Singleton tore his ACL in Week 3 of the 2024 season. He played in relief of both Singleton (testicular cancer) and Greenlaw (quadriceps and hamstring) over the course of the 2025 season and played perhaps the best football of his career.
Now, that pair returns for 2026 and the player who was signed to serve as an upgrade over them has been jettisoned after a season.
